Contract: Fixed Term - 2 years
Salary: £18,065 per annum in Year 1 increasing to £19,356 in Year 2

We have an amazing opportunity for you to join our team at Public Health Scotland. You will undertake a variety of administrative tasks, learning on the job. You will receive regular structured training and mentor support while working towards SCQF Level 6 in Business and Administration.

Environment:
 
Office based in Edinburgh or Glasgow. We have a blended work approach for employees to work from home and the office. Working hours are 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.
 
What might a day in this role look like?
 
You'll spend most of your time learning on the job but will also receive regular structured training, mentor support and encouragement so that you will have the foundations of a worthwhile and rewarding career. Duties will include:
 
  • Supporting the delivery of various projects, such as recruitment, training events, office health and safety, website content development
  • Administrative support for meetings and events
  • Supporting the team with answering mailbox queries
  • Supporting and maintaining Teams channels, websites or intranet content specific to your area of work
  • Updating databases, attendance records and reports.
 
What will I learn?
 
SCQF Level 6 in Business and Administration.
 
What qualifications/skills are required?
 
  • Ideally National 5 (A-C) or equivalent pass in Maths and English
  • Computer skills such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn new skills and a strong commitment to personal development
  • MA target age is 16-19 years (up to 24-year-olds will be considered if they meet eligible criteria).
