You will work as a member of NHS Lothian Blood Science team and will be trained and supported to undertake a range of pre analytical support duties within the laboratory. You will work towards an SVQ Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities (SCQF Level 7) and HNC Applied Science.

The Department of Laboratory Medicine provides laboratory services to primary and secondary centres throughout Lothian. The apprentice will be based in the reception areas of one of the blood science laboratories at St John’s Hospital and the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The apprentice will work as a member of NHS Lothian Blood Science team and will be trained and supported to undertake pre analytical duties within the laboratory.
