Monteith Personal Care Management is a brand new care at home provider. We aim to provide the highest possible quality of care to all of our service users, working closely with a handpicked team of well supported care workers. We know that each service user’s needs are unique, so each service user will have a person centred care plan created to meet their needs. Monteith aims to deliver the highest care at home service in North East Edinburgh. Environment: You will assist service users to live in their own homes, promoting their independence at all times, and assisting them with any duties that are becoming problematic for them. Monteith would like all their service users to enjoy a full life in their own environment with the extra support their care worker gives them. Care workers usually work alone in the community unless they are caring alongside one of their colleagues as part of a two-carer team. Duties will vary from service user to service user, but all will have an individual care plan for you to follow. You will be made familiar with the care plan format at your induction. Should you come across any issues that you are not completely confident about, you are encouraged to contact the manager on call and ask their advice. We have full time and part time positions available. What might a day in this role look like? Maintaining the highest quality of care at all times is fundamental to what Monteith is all about. As you are representing Monteith out in the community, it is imperative that you look as smart as the team you are part of and representing. Your role is versatile, and you may at times come across emergency situations. We will train you to be able to cope in these circumstances and communicate clearly with other carers/professional bodies. You will be supported at all times and be given a mobile phone to keep with you during shifts to allow communication and support to happen adequately. We will also follow training standards required to enable you to work to your best ability in the community. What will I learn? We will provide you with ongoing training and an extensive induction to set you up for success. After completing a probationary period, you will be offered the opportunity to complete an SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care. As part of your induction, you will be made aware of the National Care Standards. These are Dignity, Privacy, Choice, Safety, Realising Potential, Equality and Diversity. Monteith will promote these standards at all times between team members and service users alike. What qualifications/skills are required? We are looking for you to have a genuine interest in caring for others and have good communication skills.
