You will work full time work in a private nursery looking after children aged 0 - 5 years. The role will involve planning stimulating activities suitable for children’s development and meeting the physical, emotional and developmental needs of individual children. You will work towards SVQ Level 3/SCQF Level 7 Social Services (Children and Young People).

PA Training is an SQA approved centre specialising in SVQs in the care sector. We recruit on behalf of various private nurseries in Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian.
 
Environment:
 
You will work full time work in a private nursery looking after children aged 0 - 5 years. The role will involve providing a caring, nurturing and stimulating environment for babies and children, as well as team work with colleagues and partnership with families. You will work both indoors and outdoors enjoying walks and garden time.
 
What might a day in this role look like?
 
A typical day will include:
 

• preparing the environment
• planning stimulating activities suitable for children’s development
• preparing snacks and supervising meals
• meeting the physical, emotional and developmental needs of individual children.
• working in a team alongside others
• working with families.  

 
What will I learn?
 

• SVQ Level 3/SCQF Level 7 Social Services (Children and Young People)
• Work based core skills, ICT and Numeracy to SCQF level 5.

 
What qualifications/skills are required?
 
National 5 English is preferred.  No experience is required but an enthusiasm for working with young children, good communication skills, and an ability to use initiative are essential. A positive attitude and caring nature are also required.
