CITB is a managing agent for the construction industry, as well as a skills sector organisation. Environment: Working with local employers to join the apprenticeship scheme for a 4 year duration, the placements will be either on site on building sites, and a valid CSCS card or work towards a health and safety pass is required. The other vacancies are working in a variety of private homes for the employer, learning the skills to complete and pass the college course. What might a day in this role look like? Arriving at work for 8 am, tasks include preparing surfaces for painting, sanding, filling, rolling walls and ceilings, Ames taping, wallpapering, spraying and any other associated tasks, whilst adhering to health and safety rules at all times, and bringing the job up to completion as per the job lines, before moving on to the next job. What will I learn? You will learn all aspects of painting and decorating and will work towards an SVQ qualification at SCQF Level 6. After passing college, skills test and completing portfolio of evidence from the workplace, you will become a qualified and time served painter and decorator. What qualifications/skills are required?
