Royal Bank of Scotland is building a purpose-led bank. Its purpose will create longer-term, deeper relationships with its customers – when its customers succeed, its communities succeed, its economy thrives – and the bank succeeds as a result. RBS is putting purpose at the core of everything it does – doing so will create a sustainable and resilient long-term future.
RBS is working with Social Mobility Charity, Leadership Through Sport & Business (LTSB), to bring a range of apprenticeship opportunities for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. The bank is seeking diverse young people to help make sure it represents the communities it serves. LTSB’s vision is “a world where all young people flourish, regardless of your background”.
LTSB prepares and supports bright young people from disadvantaged backgrounds into meaningful work with major firms. This programme is about making sure young people who wouldn’t normally get the chance to work in such a large firm are clear, capable and motivated about the opportunities RBS offers. Successful candidates take part in a three week interactive pre-employment bootcamp of personal and professional development where you will receive employability training and insight into the specific role for which you’ve applied. Successful completion of the bootcamp guarantees you an interview with RBS for a Providing Financial Services apprenticeship.
LTSB will continue to support successful candidates until roles commence in the autumn, and then for the first year of your career. During the apprenticeship, you’ll study to gain a qualification while putting new skills to use in work, earning a competitive salary, and being supported professionally through the programme.
RBS has a number of offices based in and around Edinburgh city centre, including Princes Street and St Andrew Square – which is its registered head office. Its headquarters are based just outside the city on Gogarburn campus, where many of its central and support functions are based. The campus comprises office space, a 300 seat conference centre and a business school. There's an excellent range of retail and leisure facilities on site, including a book shop, hair salon and a small supermarket on the covered ‘street’ in the heart of the main building. There are also street stalls who visit the site on a rotating basis once a week. Whatever you need to do or buy, you’ll be able to here.
