​Contract: 2 years apprenticeship with a job guarantee within our parent company, Caledonian Heritable.
Salary: £8 an hour

The programme will run in conjunction with Edinburgh College and will be a fully accredited City & Guilds course. You will learn within a custom built, state-of-the-art facility inside the Archerfield Clubhouse providing the perfect teaching environment. With dedicated areas for food preparation, meat preparation, cooking, and pastry. You will also be given ‘real time’ experience and the opportunity to work in several different environments.

Archerfield is renowned for its understated quality and service with seventy bedrooms across the estate, including the magnificent Archerfield House. Two Golf Courses, The Callaway Centre of Excellence, The award-winning Fletcher’s Cottage Spa, and the Magnificent Waterfront Pavilion.
 
Environment:
 
Archerfield has created a purpose-built kitchen facility at a cost of £200,000 so that you will have a platform designed to ensure you learn the basic skills in the best possible environment. The kitchen itself is situated within the Clubhouse with stunning views onto the Dirleton Links.
 
What might a day in this role look like?

Lead by Chef Queen, one of the most recognised figures within the industry having been awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from Hit Scotland. He is past President of the Federation of Chefs Scotland and a member of the Springboard Scotland Board. Chef Queen will manage your educational wellbeing, as well as ensuring the you gain invaluable experience across the industry placing you in a variety of properties, so that you have the opportunity to gain great knowledge across the sector.
 
What will I learn?
 
City & Guilds accreditation.

What qualifications/skills are required?

Interest in food and cooking, with an aspiration for a career as a Chef.
