Employer: EY
Closing Date: Monday 12 June

You will learn how to work with visualisation and analytical tools, automation and artificial intelligence to deliver faster, more insightful client deliverables. You will complete a fully paid for professional qualification with the Institute of Chartered Accounts of Scotland (ICAS).

Employer:

EY are a professional services organisation that helps companies make better decisions about business, finance and technology. How? By asking better questions that help us all in building a better working world. With 300,000 extraordinary people in more than 150 countries, working across four key business areas - Assurance, Consulting, Strategy and Transactions, and Tax - we’re well-equipped to drive long-term value for our clients.

Environment:

Organisations across the globe are facing unprecedented challenges. These challenges, amongst others, include macroeconomic and geopolitical changes, competitor innovation, supply chain risks and changing stakeholder expectations. In Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy (TRS), we help organisations deal with these challenges, making a real difference in a fast-paced environment.

Whether our clients are companies, government organisations, investors, or financial stakeholders and whether they’re a company in distress or simply seeking to build underlying resilience in their business, we work closely alongside them to deliver the financial and organisational outcomes that enable them to adapt and succeed.

Technological advances have transformed our ways of working. Driven by client expectations of rich, detailed, technology-driven insights, exceptional technical capability and its universal deployment are becoming key EY differentiators. As technology evolves, our uses are changing to keep pace.

As a motivated and passionate member of our team, you’ll play a big part in our impactful work, no matter which business area you join. You’ll help communities to thrive, while you thrive in a place where you belong. You’ll have the opportunity to make your career your own, building opportunities for yourself. You’ll have a chance to define and activate our purpose, delivering on our promises to help clients drive long-lasting strategies.

  • Hybrid working (working from office, working from home, working on client site)
  • Flexible working hours
  • Dedicated study time and support
  • Friendly and supporting staff - buddies and career counsellors from day one.

What might a day in this role look like?

You’ll learn how to work with visualisation and analytical tools, automation and artificial intelligence to deliver faster, more insightful client deliverables. Your EY technology experience is limited only by your imagination and your thirst to learn. The role will include:

  • Working in project teams on a diverse range of engagements to help companies, creditors and other stakeholders that are facing financial challenges across the whole economic cycle
  • Undertaking a range of tasks required to manage insolvency processes in a variety of sectors, giving you a breadth of experience
  • Taking ownership of key deliverables including financial analysis and report writing
  • Supporting business development activities, including pitches and business and industry analysis
  • Communicating with clients, management teams and other stakeholders
  • Collaborating with other teams across EY as needed to provide the best possible solution for our clients.

What will I learn?

We want you to get as much as you can from this programme so, after an EY induction, you’ll get straight to work on client projects which often involve difficult or complex situations which need to be navigated. You can expect to be contributing to these challenging projects, identifying and understanding not only clients’ financial and operational issues, but how their business and industry works too. You'll learn on the job from the start and you'll learn to make quick, practical decisions and work through problems decisively. As you progress through the programme, you’ll get to do all this with more autonomy and responsibility.

You'll have lots of support from your team while completing your professional qualification as well as various in-house training opportunities. By the end of the programme, you’ll have over 4 years’ experience, a professional qualification with the Institute of Chartered Accounts of Scotland (ICAS) and great network to continue building a career from.

What qualifications/skills are required?

We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will, however, need a minimum of grade C National 5 (or equivalent) in English and Maths, and to have completed 5 Highers (or equivalent) by the time the programme starts. We welcome applications from all academic backgrounds and are looking for individuals who will succeed at EY in the desired role and future qualifications, therefore throughout our recruitment process your academic performance will be considered against your online assessment scores to determine your suitability for an EY role.
