As a trainee Accounts Assistant, your duties will include banking and allocation of receipts, sales and vehicle ledger, credit control, purchase ledger reconciliation and balance sheet controls. You will undertake a Modern Apprenticeship in Business and Administration SCQF Level 6. Following on from this, we will support you through an AAT qualification.
A car dealership based in the west of Edinburgh.
You will work towards becoming an Accounts Assistant which supports the Accounts function in all aspects of dealership accounts. This includes banking and allocation of receipts, sales and vehicle ledger, credit control, purchase ledger reconciliation and balance sheet controls, assisting in Vehicle Admin, with bringing cars into stock, invoice cars out, stock reconciliation. You will also assist in processing colleague expense claims, providing purchase ledger cover, providing assistance in the preparation of management accounts as well as additional ad-hoc duties.
What might a day in this job look like?
You will work towards understanding company policies and procedures, in order to manage and process accounts orders and paperwork. You must ensure that all paperwork follows and complies with Group policy and ensure its accuracy and legibility. You will also efficiently handle administration related issues, in addition to reviewing and managing all appropriate system and non-system generated schedules and reports. You will be fully responsible for communicating all concerns and keeping up-to-date on all new processes and procedures.
As with all positions within dealerships, Accounts Assistants are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards.
What will I learn?
We will support you in the first year of your journey while learning your new skills and you will undertake a Modern Apprenticeship in Business and Administration SCQF Level 6. Following on from this qualification, we will support you while you go through an AAT qualification (Association of Accounting Technicians) giving you a recognised Accountancy qualification in your career.
