Summary of Course
Our HNC in Music is the first year of our HND in Music, available as an independent qualification but designed to be followed-up with our HND.
Partially funded by SAAS (Scotland), it is a 1-year course suitable for all musical disciplines and instruments. Curated and delivered by music professionals, it is available in Edinburgh and Glasgow centres. Both centres boast state of the art teaching & rehearsal rooms, mac suites, recording studios and a team of professional tutors. By the end of the HNC students will be qualified to start straight on our HND (+ 1 year).
Summary of Provider
AMS is an independent music academy specialising in post-16 music performance and production education. We prepare students for a career in the modern music industry with recognised qualifications, with options to study in-centre or online. Start with us on a Further Education course, progress all the way through an Undergraduate programme or a Masters in Popular Music Performance. Or join us wherever you are on your journey! All of our post-16 courses are fully funded for those that are 16-18, and all of our undergraduate and postgraduate courses are eligible for student finance applications for UK residents. With established centres in Exeter, Gateshead, Edinburgh and Glasgow, an international Online Academy (AMSonline), and a teaching staff made up of music industry professionals with close-knit connections to their local music scenes – AMS have several attractive options for you to kickstart -or further- your career and expertise in music.

There are countless career opportunities for musicians including performing, writing and recording music, releasing music on streaming platforms, gaining a social media following, teaching, or indeed a combination of various paths to forge a multi-faceted income base. During your time with us, besides industry networking, you will gain transferable skills like communication, personal development and teamwork. You will be able to progress to study and completely a HND in Music, after the first year HNC.
