Catering Assistant – Employability Fund - 11351

This is an 8 week work placement on Employability Fund training
allowance of £55 per week plus travel expenses. Successful
applicants will secure a job and progress to Modern
Employability Fund Training Allowance of £55 per week plus
travel expenses may be available.

What might a day in this job look like?
As part of your work experience with Edinburgh Leisure at the
Royal Commonwealth Pool, you will undergo an induction into the
Catering Assistant role and receive practical experience in a busy
kitchen environment. Work experience may involve tasks that are
essential to maintaining the high standards set by environmental
and health and safety requirements. You will be expected to be
- food preparation
- serving customers.
What will I learn?
You will learn how to become an effective member of the team,
working in a professional catering environment. You will have an
on-job mentor who will support you through weekly welfare chats and
who will meet with you to carry out reviews whilst you are on work
experience. During the 8 week programme you will also complete a
certificate of Work Readiness (CWR).
What Qualifications / Qualities are required?
This is a really hands-on role. You must be comfortable taking
instruction and working as part of a team.
