​Equivalent to the 3rd year of a degree, this flexible top-up year is designed to follow on from our Foundation Degree in Music & Sound, but would also suit any applicants studying a music related HND, Foundation Degree or indeed those with relevant and recognised industry experience.

Summary of Course

Validated by the University of West London, the course is developed to reflect developments the modern music industry, and allows students to take the next step up in the practice and study. Students will learn the skills to become independent, multi-skilled music practitioners, fluent with various forms of multi-media and develop an awareness of the various careers available in the music industry. We provide the time, space and the opportunity to develop your own sound and work on your material alongside gaining valuable vocational skills. The course is available at any of our regional centres or you can study it online.

Summary of Provider

AMS is an independent music academy specialising in post-16 music performance and production education. We prepare students for a career in the modern music industry with recognised qualifications, with options to study in-centre or online. Start with us on a Further Education course, progress all the way through an Undergraduate programme or a Masters in Popular Music Performance. Or join us wherever you are on your journey! All of our post-16 courses are fully funded for those that are 16-18, and all of our undergraduate and postgraduate courses are eligible for student finance applications for UK residents. With established centres in Exeter, Gateshead, Edinburgh and Glasgow, an international Online Academy (AMSonline), and a teaching staff made up of music industry professionals with close-knit connections to their local music scenes, AMS have several attractive options for you to kickstart - or further - your career and expertise in music.

What qualifications/qualities are required?

HND in a music-related field or 5+ years of previous music experience.
